I am a fourth-year AGIS student 🌍 at the HAS Green Academy with a great passion for geographical analysis. Alongside my studies, I work part-time at Glint Solar as a Data Engineer 💻. Additionally, I am the president of the student association Atlas 🌟, where I focus on connecting fellow students 🤝 and enhancing the atmosphere within the program.
As a GIS Specialist, I managed geospatial data for assigned countries, adding and maintaining data layers to enhance the platform's functionality. I also communicated with customers to understand their data needs and provided tailored solutions, ensuring the integration of relevant geospatial datasets. This role required balancing customer interactions with technical tasks to support data accuracy and usability.
During my internship at Glint Solar, I gained extensive knowledge about AWS and B2B SaaS platforms, deepening my understanding of cloud services and software solutions for businesses. I also improved my programming skills by writing shell scripts and working with Python for data manipulation tasks, using libraries like Beautiful Soup for web scraping and parsing HTML data.
GIS Consultancy Juul is my own freelance business where I offer my services as a GIS specialist. This adventure has not only helped me improve my technical skills, such as working with GIS software, spatial data analysis, and creating interactive maps, but has also taught me a lot about accounting, starting a business, and presenting myself to clients.
As president and board member of the student association, I assisted with organizing guest lectures, social events, pub quizzes, and end-of-year galas. My responsibilities also included maintaining the association's finances, seeking out sponsors, and managing ongoing relationships with them.
At Van Doorn, I developed my first coding skills by creating in-house tools using ArcGIS and building a custom data model to improve data management processes. I also used FME to manipulate and transform spatial data, enhancing the integration and automation of geospatial workflows. This experience strengthened my technical foundation in GIS software and data processing.
At Heijmans, I gained valuable experience working in a large corporate environment that utilized ArcGIS and FME for geospatial data management and automation. During my 10-week full-time internship, I further developed my professional skills, learning to balance the demands of full-time work while contributing to real-world projects involving GIS technologies.
At Kruidvat, I gained early work experience and developed leadership skills by managing a team of 3 to 6 people, coordinating tasks, and ensuring smooth operations.
